If you love BBQ and music, you have to be in Chester for the 5th annual Hog on the Hill BBQ Cook Off Event. Last year, 22 Bar-B-Que teams competed for the title of Best BBQ. With cash awards of over $2,000, this event is sure to attract teams from across North and South Carolina.
Back by popular demand will be the "Anything But" competition Friday night allowing the cook teams to show off their culinary skills.
Other activities will include kid rides, live music, classic cars and horse and carriage rides. Bring a blanket and eat a BBQ picnic while listening to local bands or browse the sidewalk sales from local stores and let the kids enjoy rides and home made ice cream in the summer sun!
3rd "ANYTHING BUT COOK OFF"
We are pleased to announce the second annual “Anything But” competition as part of the Hog on the Hill BBQ Cook-Off Event. This will take place Friday evening, May 3, with turn in at 7:00 pm. We will be on a tight schedule as the cook’s meeting is scheduled for 6:00 pm. This is a wonderful opportunity to show your creativity and BBQ prowess – so what do you have to lose? We will have 5 judges for this competition.
Seafood, turkey, wild game, alligator, frog legs, ostrich, all parts of the pig (OTHER THAN PORK SHOULDER, BOSTON BUTTS), etc. - just "Anything But” is allowed in this contest. Just let your imagination go wild.
Entrants must be competing in the Hog on the Hill BBQ Cook Off contest. The "Anything But" entry must be the work of an individual team.
